Snapnet Recognized by the World Bank as a Global Finalist in the 2025 GovTech Innovation Challenge

Proudly representing Nigeria on the global innovation stage

Snapnet is honored to announce that we have been selected as one of only six global finalists and the only Nigerian company in the prestigious World Bank GovTech Innovation Challenge 2025, chosen from a competitive pool of 136 applicants worldwide. This recognition marks a major milestone in our journey to advance AI-driven public sector transformation across Africa.

The GovTech Innovation Challenge, led by the World Bank and supported by SECO (Switzerland) and Trust Valley, focuses on leveraging private-sector innovation to solve public-sector challenges. This year’s challenge targeted digital solutions to help the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) modernize tax administration and enhance national revenue mobilization.

Snapnet’s Winning Solution: AI-Powered E-Commerce Taxpayer Identification & VAT Compliance

As a finalist in Challenge 2, Snapnet developed a proof-of-concept solution for:

  • AI-based taxpayer identification in the e-commerce sector
  • Automated VAT compliance tracking
  • Revenue intelligence dashboards for regulators
  • Fraud prevention through digital traceability

Built by our AI & Data Innovation team, our solution demonstrates how advanced technologies can support governments in expanding their tax net, reducing leakages, and improving efficiency while enabling fair digital trade practices.

A Global Collaboration to Strengthen Africa’s Digital Capabilities

Before the award ceremony, the six finalists including innovators from Kenya, Singapore, South Africa, and Ghana participated in a four-day bootcamp hosted by the Trust Valley ecosystem in Switzerland. The program provided:

  • Technical collaboration with government experts
  • Public-private innovation workshops
  • Guidance from World Bank specialists
  • Peer-learning sessions with global innovators

This environment empowered each company to refine solutions that could scale across Africa and beyond.
